The Annual ShanghaiTech Symposium on Information Science and Technology (ASSIST) is an international forum that features fundamental research developments and groundbreaking technologies in the areas of computer science, electrical engineering, information engineering and computational mathematics. Each year, we invite some of the most renowned researchers in the world from both academia and industry to present their latest research work and to discuss future research directions. The Symposium aims to bring the state of the art in research and industrial technologies to young faculty and graduate students in China, especially in the neighboring areas of Shanghai.
The ASSIST symposium has been successfully held for nine editions since its inception in 2015. This year's event focuses on the theme "Artificial Intelligence" and is organized by the School of Information Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University. The featured topics include:
Quan Vuong is a robotics researcher and Co-Founding Member of Physical Intelligence. His research focuses on large-scale pre-training for robot learning, cross-embodiment generalization, and vision-language-action (VLA) models. He previously conducted core research at Google DeepMind and holds a Ph.D. degree from UC San Diego, co-advised by Prof. Henrik I. Christensen and Prof. Hao Su.
Yonggang Wen
Yonggang Wen is a Professor and President’s Chair in Data Science at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Currently he serves as the Vice Provost (Graduate Education) and Dean of Graduate College at NTU Singapore. Previously he has served as the Associate Vice President (Capability Building) at President’s Office (2023), the Associate Dean (Research) at College of Engineering (2018-2023), the acting Director for Nanyang Technopreneurship Center (NTC) (2017-2019) and the Assistant Chair (Innovation) at the School of Computer Science and Engineering (2016-2018), all at NTU Singapore. 从工具到品味:智能体时代的AI科研探索
Details
