The Annual ShanghaiTech Symposium on Information Science and Technology (ASSIST) is an international forum that features fundamental research developments and groundbreaking technologies in the areas of computer science, electrical engineering, information engineering and computational mathematics. Each year, we invite some of the most renowned researchers in the world from both academia and industry to present their latest research work and to discuss future research directions. The Symposium aims to bring the state of the art in research and industrial technologies to young faculty and graduate students in China, especially in the neighboring areas of Shanghai.
The first ASSIST held in 2015 focused on Data Science and Machine Learning. The second ASSIST held in 2016 focused on three main topics: Robotics, Virtual Reality, and Computing Theory and Systems. The third ASSIST held in 2017 focused on Artificial Intelligence. The fourth ASSIST held in 2018 focused on Computer Vision.
This year, our ASSIST’s theme is Smart Life. Our featured topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Computer Vision and Smart Robotics
• Smart Computer Systems
• Intelligent Networks with Convergence of Communication, Control and Computing
• Smart Devices, Circuits and Systems
• Advanced Power and Energy Systems
• Intelligent Medical Image Systems
• Biomedical and Healthcare Big Data
The symposium is hosted by the School of Information Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech University. Jointly founded by Shanghai Municipal Government and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2013, ShanghaiTech University is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and to developing leaders in many disciplines who make a difference globally.
